Definitions

In this policy

Affiliated Companies: Companies directly controlled or indirectly controlled by JBE; or directly or indirectly controlling JBE; or jointly controlling the same company with JBE; or companies that are under the direct or indirect control of the same company as JBE, including but not limited to parent companies, subsidiaries; subsidiaries controlled by the same parent company as JBE, etc.

Personal Information: Information that can be used alone or in combination with other information to identify an individual's identity or reflect a specific individual's activities, recorded in electronic or other forms.

Personal Sensitive Information: Including personal biometric information, communication records and content, health information, transaction information, precise location information, etc. When we provide you with specific products or services, and involve the collection of personal sensitive information, we will obtain your consent through a prominent and clear notice before collecting your personal sensitive information.

Smart Devices: Refers to non-standard computing devices produced or manufactured by hardware manufacturers, with a human-machine interface and capable of transmitting information through wireless networks, including smart security devices, smart elderly and child care devices, smart environmental monitoring devices, etc.

Application:** Refers to the mobile application (mobile client) developed by JBE, which helps end users remotely control smart devices and connect to the JBE Internet of Things (IoT) platform.

I. What Personal Information We Collect

In order to provide you with our services, we will ask you to provide the personal information necessary for such services. If you do not provide personal information, we cannot provide you with the corresponding products or services.

1. Information you voluntarily provide to us

Account registration information: When you register for our account, we will collect your account name and contact information, which may include your email address, phone number, username, and login credentials. During your interaction with our products, we will further collect your nickname, country code, language preferences, or time zone information in your account.
When you choose to authorize login with a third-party account, we will obtain the account information you share (default system avatar, nickname, regional information) from the third party and bind it to your JBE account for quick login. We will use your personal information in accordance with the agreement with the third party and the terms of the third party's privacy policy regarding the sharing of personal information, in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Non-registered account information: When you are still in the stage of understanding our products, you can try our products without registration (no login), that is, without creating an account ("no login" or "tourist" mode), you can still browse some of JBE's products or services with a tourist identity ID. When you use the no login or tourist mode, we will not collect your account and related information, and the collected information is limited to the permission information you authorize for additional functions, device and usage information, including the operating system of the mobile phone. When you use the product and (or) service features that require location services, we will obtain location information based on your authorization. When you choose to exit the no login (tourist) mode, all information generated by you as a tourist will be immediately and permanently deleted. However, if the services you use or purchase are based on your account information, please go to the registration/login page to register or log in.

User feedback: When you use our services and submit feedback and suggestions related to the services to us, we will collect the email address, mobile phone number, and feedback content (added images or videos) you fill in, as well as the problem logs submitted, all of which will be used to promptly handle your application issues and smart device-related failures.
At the same time, according to different application products and services, JBE will collect the corresponding and necessary personal information to provide you with products and services.

Information collected based on additional functions provided

In order to provide you with more convenient and high-quality products and (or) services, and to strive to improve your experience, we will collect and use your personal information in the following additional services provided to you. If you do not provide this information, it will not affect your use of the basic services of the JBE Link application, but you will not be able to obtain the user experience brought to you by these additional services. These additional services include:

Additional services based on location information:
When you authorize the mobile device's location function through the system and use services based on location, we will collect and use your location information so that you can use the JBE Link application to network with smart devices. And when you use our specific products or services (weather services/home management), based on your consent, we will collect your real-time precise or imprecise geographical location information. When you use the geofencing feature and create scenes to generate location changes, we will apply for background location permissions with the purpose of locating the user to complete the user's pre-approved automated scenes. You can turn off the location service in the mobile device's system to stop our collection of your location information. The add device feature requires location permissions, enter the add device, based on the search for nearby devices feature requires Bluetooth scanning, Bluetooth needs to apply for location, otherwise, it will affect the user's device addition.

Additional services based on camera (camera) permissions:
You can use this feature to scan codes to add devices you have purchased after enabling camera (camera) permissions. Please be aware that even if you have agreed to enable camera (camera) permissions, we will only obtain information when you actively scan codes and use the camera (camera) to take photos. The scanning function will collect light sensor information, and based on the data of the light sensor, it will determine whether to display the flash function.

You can use this feature to upload your photos/pictures/videos after enabling album permissions, to achieve the function of reporting device usage problems and providing proof. When you report device usage problems, we will locate your problems through the photos/pictures you upload.

Additional services related to voice technology based on microphone permissions:
You can use the microphone to achieve voice functions, including shooting videos, awakening voice assistants, and in these functions, we will collect your voice information to recognize your command needs. Please be aware that even if you have agreed to enable microphone permissions, we will only obtain voice information through the microphone when you actively click on the App's microphone icon or record videos.

We apply for this permission to ensure the stable operation of the client. After you enable us to read/write your device storage permissions, we will read from or write necessary information such as pictures, files, and crash log information to your device storage to provide you with information publishing or local crash log recording functions.

We apply for this permission to push notifications related to products or services to you, especially when you purchase related services and need to send alerts to you to capture real-time situations.

We apply for this permission so that when you bind a camera in the application, it can display the camera's real-time image in the floating window.

Additional services related to Bluetooth technology:
You can use Bluetooth functions, including device control, device status acquisition, device discovery, and device networking, after enabling Bluetooth permissions. In these functions, we will communicate with terminal devices through Bluetooth. Please be aware that even if you have agreed to enable Bluetooth permissions, we will only use Bluetooth for communication in these scenarios: displaying device status on the home page, device panel; controlling devices on the home page, device panel; discovering devices, device networking on the home page, add device page.

Additional functions based on fingerprint permissions (Android system only): We apply for this permission to allow you to log in to the App without a password through fingerprint ID, and we will not save or upload your fingerprint information.

Additional functions bound to notification listener service permissions (Android system only)
We apply for this permission so that after smart devices are connected to the App, they can listen to App notification messages and synchronize App messages to mobile smart devices for display.
Turn on/off permissions through 【Device Panel】-【Settings】-【Message Push】(default off)

You understand and agree that the above additional services require you to turn on access permissions for your location information (geographical location), camera (camera), album (image library), microphone (voice), internal and external storage, "floating window", Bluetooth, listener service, and fingerprint on your device to collect and use the information involved in these permissions. You can check the status of the above permissions one by one in your device settings and decide whether to turn on or off these permissions yourself.
Please note that turning on any permission means you authorize us to collect and use related personal information to provide you with corresponding services. Once you turn off any permission, it means you have canceled the authorization, and we will no longer continue to collect and use related personal information based on the corresponding permission, and we will not be able to provide you with the services corresponding to that permission. However, your decision to turn off permissions will not affect the collection and use of information based on your authorization before.

2. Information we automatically collect

Mobile device information: When you interact with our products, to ensure you can normally use our services, maintain the normal operation of our services, improve and optimize our service experience, and ensure the security of your account, we will automatically collect mobile device information, which may include mobile device models, login IP addresses, wireless connection information, operating system types and versions, application version numbers, push notification identifiers, log files, and mobile network information. At the same time, we will collect your software version number. To ensure the security of the operating environment or to provide services, we will collect information about the mobile applications and other software you use, as well as the application installation list (purpose is to monitor the performance of the application).

Usage information: During your interaction with our website and services, we will automatically collect usage information related to access, clicks, downloads, sending/receiving messages, and other usage of our website and services.

Log information: When you use our application, to enhance your user experience, system and exception logs will be uploaded for analysis, including your IP address, language usage habits, operating system version, date or time of access, in order to accurately identify problems and help you solve problems during the use process.

Please note that individual mobile device information and service log information cannot identify the identity of a specific natural person. If we combine this non-personal information with other information to identify the identity of a specific natural person, or use it in combination with personal information, then during the period of combined use, this non-personal information will be treated as personal information. Except with your authorization or as otherwise stipulated by laws and regulations, we will anonymize and de-identify this information.

3. Smart device-related information

When you use smart devices, we collect inherent information of the smart devices themselves and information generated during your use of smart devices.

Basic information of smart devices: When you use smart devices connected to our products or services, we will collect basic information about smart devices, including the name, device ID, online status, activation time, firmware version, and upgrade information of smart devices.

Information collected during the connection of smart devices: Based on the type of smart devices you need to connect, whether through Wi-Fi connection, local connection through Bluetooth followed by Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth connection, or Zig-bee (or other) methods, we will collect the Mac address or device ID of the smart device.

Information reported by smart devices: Depending on the different smart devices you choose to connect with our products or services, we will collect the information reported by your smart devices. To help you better understand the use of our services, the following smart devices are given as examples, and the reported information is only applicable when you have used this type of service:

For example: When you voluntarily use a smart camera and connect it to JBE Link: You have connected a camera-equipped doorbell, door lock, smart surveillance camera to monitor the safety of your residence or view related monitoring content. After you add the device and use the smart camera, when the device detects movement of people or objects, the smart camera will capture the monitoring image (in picture format) for you to view. The smart camera will capture the monitoring image (in picture format) for you to view, and this information will be automatically uploaded to the cloud for you to save, but we will not use this picture for additional purposes and will automatically delete this information after the retention period. When you actively choose and successfully purchase cloud storage value-added services, the smart camera will upload the videos you shoot to the cloud for storage, so you can play them back on the application. We will retain your video information according to the cloud storage services you purchase and will not use it for other purposes. When you choose to delete the picture in advance at the JBE Link application, you can delete it in the message center. If you need to delete the video and execute the command on the application, the cloud will respond to the delete command and immediately delete the video you choose to delete. Please note that when you choose to turn off the mobile detection function, the smart camera will not actively record the captured images, which will affect your use of the smart camera.

II. Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing Personal Information

The purposes for which we process your information are as follows:

To provide you with services: We process your account information, mobile device information, usage information, location information, and smart device-related information to provide you with the products and services you request. The legal basis for this processing is to fulfill our contract with you as per our "User Agreement".

To improve our services: We process your mobile device information, usage information, location information, and smart device-related information to ensure the functionality and security of our products, develop and improve our products and services, analyze our operational efficiency, and prevent and track fraudulent or improper use. The legal basis for this processing is to fulfill our contract with you as per our "User Agreement".

Non-marketing communications: We process your personal information to send you important information related to services, terms/conditions, and policy changes, and (or) other administrative information. At the same time, we will also send you notifications related to the services you have purchased, including alert services. You can view the message push (【Sidebar】-【Settings】-【Message Push】) in the JBE Link application to manage whether you require receiving such message communications, and when you choose to turn off push notifications, we will no longer continue to push such information to you. The legal basis for this processing is to fulfill our contract with you as per our "User Agreement".

Data analysis: In order to better enjoy the convenience of smart devices, we will analyze your use of the JBE Link application or smart devices, analyze products or usage scenarios related to you so that you can better enjoy the convenience brought by our products, and we will use the information of the smart devices you have bound to recommend other smart devices that can intelligently interact with your bound devices (smart device recommendation service). If you do not agree to our analysis of your data, you can enter the privacy settings of the JBE Link application (【Sidebar】-【Settings】-【Privacy Permission Settings】-【Data Analysis】) to close your choice. The legal basis for this processing is based on your consent.

Personalized recommendation services: We process your account information, usage information, and mobile device information to provide you with tailored services (including recommendations and display of product information and advertisements suitable for you) based on the type of device used, as well as inviting you to participate in user surveys for the products you use. This information is necessary for personalized recommendations to you, and if you refuse to provide it, we will not be able to recommend personalized information or services to you, nor will we be able to display recommended purchase services or send targeted push messages. Currently, JBE does not make automated decisions based on your personal information and only provides scenario-based recommendation services based on your smart device type. If you do not agree to JBE processing your personal information to obtain personalized services, you can enter the JBE Link application or the privacy settings in the application (【Sidebar】-【Settings】-【Privacy Permission Settings】-【Personalized Recommendation Services】) to close your choice. The legal basis for this processing is based on your consent. Please note that the basic scenario recommendation function is only based on your networking devices to provide their available scenario services (including device automation and convenient execution), not personalized recommendation services.

Compliance: We only process your personal information when the law requires us to disclose information, or when we deem it necessary or appropriate:
(a) To comply with applicable laws and regulations, legal procedures , or requests from public authorities and government agencies.
(b) To fulfill our terms of use and other agreements, policies, or standards, including investigating any potential violations.
(c) To protect the rights, privacy, security, or property of us and (or) other users, including risk management, detection, and identification of illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, or malicious activities.
We also use your collected personal information in other ways, and we will provide specific notices at the time of collection and obtain your consent as required by applicable laws. If there are any changes in the purpose of processing your personal information, we will notify you of such changes through email and (or) prominent notices on our website, and inform you of your choices regarding personal information.

III. With whom do we share your personal information?

JBE only shares your personal information in ways that you are aware of. We will share your personal information with the following participants:
Disclose your personal information to third-party service providers who provide certain business-related services for us, including website hosting, data analysis, payment and credit card processing, infrastructure supply, IT services, customer support services, email sending services, and other similar services, to ensure that they can provide services for us.

Disclose your personal information to customers and other business partners who directly or indirectly provide you with smart devices and (or) the networks and systems you use to access and use our website and services.

When there is a reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer, or other disposition of all or part of our business, assets, or shares (including but not limited to the above situations related to any bankruptcy or similar procedures), disclose your personal information to affiliated companies or other third parties. Apart from the above third parties, we only disclose your personal information to other third parties with your consent.
When you use services provided by third parties, we will share the corresponding information after ensuring that the third party has obtained your authorization and consent, and under other circumstances that comply with laws and regulations. IV. Transfer of Collected Information

JBE operates globally, so the personal information we collect under this policy may be transferred, stored, and processed between different countries or regions. The laws and regulations applicable in the countries or regions where we operate may differ from the laws applicable in your country/region of residence, but we will strictly comply with the laws and regulations related to the protection of personal information. Therefore, within the framework of personal information protection, to promote our operations, we may transfer personal information to the countries or regions where we conduct business. No matter where your information is stored, our privacy and security practices aim to provide global protection for your personal information.

Including, the European Commission has determined that some countries/regions outside the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or Switzerland have mechanisms that can adequately protect personal information. When the personal information of users in the EEA, Switzerland, or the UK is transferred to countries/regions outside the EEA, Switzerland, or the UK, and the recipients are not considered to have an adequate level of information protection, we will ensure compliance with the "EU Standard Contractual Clauses" for information transfer. In particular, we will store and process all personal information collected and generated during our operations on the Chinese mainland within data centers in mainland China, except as allowed by applicable law for cross-border transmission.

V. Rights Related to Personal Information

We respect your rights while also holding your personal information.
You can exercise your personal rights without any cost. According to the requirements of local information protection laws, if your account service is in the mainland of China, then we will complete the verification and processing of your request within 15 working days; if your account service scope is outside the mainland of China, then we will reply to your request within 30 days.

If you decide to send us a request by email, please specify what information you want to change, whether you want your personal information deleted from our database, or what restrictions you want us to impose on the use of your personal information. Please note that for security reasons, we will require you to verify your identity before further processing your request.

You can exercise your rights related to personal information through the following specified paths:

Personal Information Access Right: If you request access to personal information we process related to you (i.e., apply to us for a copy of your personal information), you can obtain information through the application 【Sidebar】-【Settings】-【Privacy Policy Management】-【Personal Information Export】.

Personal Information Modification Right: If you request us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information related to you, you can modify the information in the following 2 ways:

  1. Modify "registered account" (email/phone number): 【Sidebar】-【Settings】-【Account & Security】-【Modify Account】.
  2. Modify "nickname and (or) time zone": 【Sidebar】-【Profile】.

Personal Information Deletion Right: If you request the deletion of your personal information, you can go through 【Sidebar】-top right corner 【Settings】-【Account & Security】-【Delete Account】, according to the prompts displayed, you can cancel your account and further delete your personal information.

Personal Information Restriction Processing Right: When you request to temporarily or permanently restrict us from processing some or all of your personal information, please delete your account through the application 【Sidebar】-【Settings】-【Account & Security】or 【Sidebar】-【FAQ & Feedback】to us, or submit your application to privacy@jbe-lifepro.com.

Personal Information Processing Withdrawal Right: When we use your personal information based on your consent or our legitimate interests, and you choose to object or refuse our use of your personal information, please refer to the following "withdrawal of consent" processing methods to cancel your decision to consent to the processing:

  1. As mentioned above, you can withdraw your consent by changing device permissions in the application's 【Sidebar】-【Settings】-【Privacy Permission Settings】and then in the device system settings, including location, camera (camera), album (image library/video library), microphone, Bluetooth settings, message notification push, and other related functions.
  2. In the non-marketing communications you have consented to, turn off your choices through 【Sidebar】-【Settings】-【Message Center】.
  3. In the data analysis function you have consented to, turn off your choice through 【Sidebar】-【Settings】-【Privacy Permission Settings】-【Data Analysis】.
  4. In the personalized push service you have consented to, turn off your choice through 【Sidebar】-【Settings】-【Privacy Permission Settings】-【Personalized Push Service】.
  5. By unbinding smart devices through the application, the information of the smart devices you use will not be collected.
  6. By using the application's login-free/tourist mode and exiting services related to location information, we will not collect any personal information about you at this time.
  7. If you have previously consented to associate your JBE Link account with third-party services, such as third-party health platforms, please unbind on that third-party platform.
    When you withdraw your consent or authorization, it may result in us being unable to continue providing the services corresponding to the withdrawn authorization. However, your withdrawal of consent or authorization does not affect the processing of personal information carried out before based on your consent.

VI. Information Security Measures

We take commercially reasonable physical, administrative, and technical safeguards to maintain the integrity and security of your personal information. JBE provides a variety of security strategies to effectively ensure the information security of users and devices.
In terms of device access, we use JBE Link's proprietary algorithms to ensure data isolation, access authentication, and authorization requests.

In terms of data communication, we support commercial-grade information encryption transmission for communication using secure algorithms and transmission encryption protocols.

In terms of data processing, we adopt strict data filtering and verification as well as a complete data audit process.

In terms of data storage, all confidential information of users will be securely encrypted for storage.

In addition to the above technical security measures, JBE has also established a series of security measures at the system and control level, including defining positions and responsibilities, holding safety and privacy protection training courses, strengthening employee data protection awareness, controlling access permissions, and other measures to prevent data loss, illegal use, unauthorized access or disclosure, tampering, or damage.

If you believe for any reason that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, you believe the security of your JBE account has been compromised), please send an email to privacy@jbe-lifepro.com to inform us immediately.

If a security incident occurs that affects the security of your personal information, we will notify you through your reserved email address, phone number, message center push, and other methods as soon as possible, and inform you of recommendations to reduce or prevent related risks. If necessary, we will take corresponding remedial measures in a timely manner according to our internal security incident emergency plan and report to the relevant authorities as required.

VII. Information Retention Period

We will process your personal information within the shortest period required by this policy or laws and regulations, unless a longer retention period is required by specific legal requirements. We will determine the appropriate retention period based on the quantity, nature, and sensitivity of personal information, and after the retention period ends, we will destroy your personal information.

  1. To meet your requested products and services according to the "User Agreement" and this policy.
  2. When you explicitly request the deletion of your personal information, we will set this as a task and no longer retain your personal information.

The above terms, when we confirm the completion of the collection and processing of personal information based on 1), or when we confirm your deletion or cancellation application based on 2), or after we terminate the operation of the corresponding products or services, we will stop retaining and process the deletion of your personal information. Generally, once the specified information retention period is reached, we will no longer retain your personal information. If we cannot destroy the information for technical reasons, causing the retention of personal information to exceed the storage period, we will take appropriate measures to prevent further use of your personal information, including anonymization processing.

VIII. Protection of Children's Personal Information

JBE attaches great importance to the protection of children's personal information. If you are under the age of 14 (or the age stipulated by your country/region), you must carefully read JBE's "Children's Privacy Protection Statement" and obtain the written consent of your parents or legal guardians before using our services. JBE protects children's personal information in accordance with the provisions of relevant laws and regulations in each region, country, or region. Please note that if we find that we have collected children's personal information without obtaining verifiable consent from parents or legal guardians in advance, we will try our best to delete the relevant personal information as soon as possible.

IX. Statement on Policy Changes

We will update this policy at least once a year according to changes in information practices. If we make any significant changes, we will notify you by email (sent to the email address specified in your account) or post a notice within the application before the changes take effect. We recommend that you regularly browse this application to obtain the latest information on privacy practices.
